Freedom and conflict contribute and impact the world around us positively or negatively. Unlike people in countries like North Korea, Libya, Iran, and Cuba, the United States has many freedoms protected by the Constitution, Bill of rights, etc that our founding fathers established. The benefit of having these freedoms is that we are allowed to act, say, express, believe and more freely. The costs of having freedom was war and conflict where many soldiers lost their lives. Many times there is conflict surrounding attaining freedom. This conflicts usually involves what freedoms should be given and the limits to the freedom. Freedom and conflict can be opposites because there is a paradoxical relationship between them. Freedom is often a resolution or compromise for conflict. However, too much freedom without a sense of order can create more conflict.

After a couple months of being back at school, I now know the expectations and how each class is run. In terms of reaching the academic goals I set for myself I am in a good place. I have achieved the goals like scoring an 85% or higher on the WPW tests and participating in class when there is a chance to. I am still working towards my long term. One of my long-term goals I have made progress on is my goal to read 11 books this year. I have read 2 books at or above my level and am currently reading the third book. In this class, I have the strength of getting my work completed on time. However, a weakness I have is struggling to remember the WPW vocabulary from previous weeks. As a writer, I feel I need to continue working on incorporating the gate icons to reveal a deeper meaning. For my essay on "The Crucible" I was challenged when writing the introduction and conclusion paragraphs. The WPW tests have been easy for me because I have been prepared for the tests. In the month of November, I want to work on becoming a better writer and improving my essay. |
